I everyone. It's been bucketing down here today but now the sun is shining!
I have been looking after my Dad a couple of hours today! He is really failing fast. He is 90 but has been quite fit till a few months ago. He has a problem with his throat so can hardly eat. He has to have 3 nutritious drinks each day to try and build him up. They don't seem to be working has lost loads of weight.
The medical care he is getting is second to none.
Nurses out most days and GP calling a couple of times a week.
So it's not surprising I am feeling a bit low at the mo!
Crafting is helping me when I can settle down to create!

It's time for WOYWW 229 once again. That means a snoop around some wonderful crafty desks. Starting with Julia's Stamping Ground
I am still playing with Advent Calenders. I made lots of little boxes and glued them together.
Papers are from Dovecraft Tis the season. From Chloe
Boxes, words & numbers cut on Silhouette Portrait die cutting machine. HERE

How strange. I am a Jan with a 91 year old Dad whose memory is fading. The problem is he's in Wales, I'm in Wiltshire. He has been managing in sheltered accommodation up to now but not for much longer...sigh.
ReplyDeleteI find crafting helps too...
Hugs, LLJ 7 xx
Sorry to hear about your dad, Jan....I know how you're feeling, it's so hard to watch them deteriorate and not be able to stop it.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that you can escape for a while and just think about crafting....this advent creation is lovely xx Thinking of you xx
Wonderful project. I love how you've framed your image with the litle boxes and how you've used your cutting machine to create the elements. I'm sorry to hear that your father's health isn't so good. Let's hope he gains some strength from the nutrition he's getting.
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make an advent, have access to all the supplies, just need to order and get busy. Thank you for your visit. Kim #90

ReplyDeletegreat card brilliant idea.sorry to here about your dad.x
ReplyDeleteJan, beautiful layout, but I am so sorry to hear about your dad, give him some raw eggs in his protein drinks, the extra protein will help him so much. My dad was sick many years ago and it really helped. Try a minimum of 4 to 6 eggs a day, serious. We have this drink here called hospital strength sustagin if you have something similar, mix the eggs in with that.
ReplyDeleteHope and prayers are with you and your family.

ReplyDeleteThank you for dropping by my blog, Jan! I'm so sorry to hear about you father. It is a difficult time when parents so quickly change from being ok to being so different. We are also praying for my mom at this time. I spend as much time as I can with her, before work and after work most days. Hardly any time to do any arts and crafts except an illustration during prayer time, in my journal.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
